The expectations were immense. All eyes were fixed on him ahead of the 2025 Ojude Oba festival. Many believed that with such heightened anticipation, he would struggle to meet the moment and that perhaps this would be the year a new style icon would emerge.

But guess what? Farooq “Faq” Oreagba once again surpassed all expectations, retaining his well-deserved crown as the King of Steez at this year’s event.

As anticipated, Oreagba’s arrival was nothing short of a spectacle. Greeted by eager paparazzi and media crews, the atmosphere was electric, everyone yearning for a glimpse of what the celebrated style king had in store for this year’s celebration.

True to form, Oreagba made a grand entrance in his signature agbada and kembe, riding gracefully on horseback. In one gloved hand, he held a cigar; a subtle nod to his personal flair. A cancer survivor whose joyful spirit radiates through every appearance, Oreagba paid meticulous attention to every detail: stylish sunglasses paired perfectly with a traditional ibìlè cap, a coveted wristwatch gleamed on his wrist, and an elaborate Cuban chain rested elegantly across his chest.

In once again outshining every expectation (just as he once triumphed over cancer), Oloye Farooq Oreagba reaffirmed his status as the embodiment of Yoruba elegance and cultural pride. His presence at Ojude Oba is more than a fashion statement; it is a celebration of resilience, heritage, and timeless sophistication.

As Ojude Oba continues to serve as a global showcase of Yoruba culture, it is my hope that other Yoruba communities and descendants draw inspiration from this success. Through such cultural masterpieces, we can amplify the stories, traditions, and economic opportunities that lie within our towns and cities.

Congratulations to the sons and daughters of Ijebu land on yet another spectacular edition of Ojude Oba.
