IT USE TO BE OUR SHELTER DURING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Christain family rebuilt community mosque in Osogbo

A historical community mosque has been rebuilt by a Christian, named Oluwadayo Peter in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital. The Masjid is located at Oja Oba(King’s Market) close to the central mosque in the same community area in Osogbo.

During its commissioning, Mr. Peter noted that “Anytime my dad bullied my mum everybody will be sent out and no one will shelter us even our closest friends. but the Mosque. My mother, my siblings, and I slept in the Mosque several times till daybreak hence It’s a payback time to turn the Mosque into a modern one”.

In response to the news by our Community Gist correspondent Miss Kemi Olufaleye: a clergy, Prophet Joshua Akinyele describes the act as a reminder that we are all human first before religion and the essence of religion is to teach us how to be more humane to one another.

He appropriates the young man for remembering to pay back to the mosque which sheltered them while in need of one. He further encourages tolerance and religious unity
