Otunba Oluseye Opatoki, a prominent Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has expressed his deepest condolences to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, following the sudden passing of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde, in the early hours of today.

In his message, Otunba Opatoki acknowledged the harsh reality of death, reflecting on the fact that it is an inevitable part of life, though none can predict the exact time or moment when it will come.
He described the late Engineer Sunday Makinde as a man of great honor, integrity, and wisdom whose leadership qualities will always be remembered and admired. “The impact of his leadership, his words of wisdom, and his invaluable counsel to Governor Makinde in guiding the affairs of Oyo State will never be forgotten,” Opatoki stated. “His passing leaves a significant void, not only in the Makinde family but in the entire state of Oyo. His absence will be deeply felt by all.”

Otunba Opatoki also prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul, asking for God’s forgiveness for any shortcomings, and for eternal rest for Engineer Sunday Makinde. He further prayed that the Makinde family be granted the strength and fortitude to endure this immense loss.
“This is a painful and irreplaceable loss, but I trust that God will provide comfort and strength to Governor Makinde and his entire family during this difficult time,”
